About the Person
Sven Thormahlen, Ph.D. serves as the Chief Executive Officer of MucoVax. Dr. Thormahlen served as the Chief Technology Officer and Member of Management Board at Corbion N.V. from May 12, 2014 to September 23, 2015. He served as an Executive Vice President of Danone Research and General Manager of Research & Development at Groupe Danone. Dr. Thormahlen served as the International Executive Director of Research and Development at Groupe Danone in France until May 2011. In this role, Dr. Thormahlen headed more than 1,500 researchers while overseeing four divisions, including medical nutrition, dairy foods, waters and beverages and baby and infant nutrition. Dr. Thormahlen has more than twenty years experience in successfully managing industrial research and product development departments with emphasis on fast moving consumer goods, medical devices, OTC products and medical nutrition. He has more than 30 years managerial experience with multinational pharmaceutical and nutrition companies. He served as the Vice President of Research & Development and General Manager of Danone Research at Groupe Danone since July 1, 2005. He served as a Member of Biotechnology Advisory Panel of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company since July 2004. Dr. Thormahlen served as Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Avesthagen Limited. Dr. Thormahlen served as a Scientific Advisor of Avestha Gengraine Technologies Pvt Ltd. Dr. Thormahlen has held a variety of positions within the Research and Development organizations of leading Healthcare and Consumer Goods Companies throughout France, Germany and the United States. His experience covers Product Research, Product Development, Clinical Studies and Quality Assurance. He has been a Director of Accera, Inc. since January 03, 2012. Dr. Thormahlen received his Doctorate in Organic Synthetic Chemistry from the University of Hamburg.
