Charlottesville, VA-based Piedmont Virginia Community College has Appointed Sue Haas as Chief Information Officer
Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a comprehensive, public institution of higher education that awards associate degrees and certificates. As part of the Virginia Community College System, PVCC serves the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Piedmont Virginia Community College seeks to be a leader and innovator in post-secondary education. PVCC will be the college of choice for students to advance their education and career goals, and pursue lifelong learning.
Sue Haas has joined Piedmont Virginia Community College as chief information officer responsible for all aspects of information technology at the College. As the new CIO at PVCC, Haas will oversee network services, information security, administrative computing, telecommunications, and help desk and e-mail services. Haas has a career in information technology in the private and public sectors, including the last 12 years at the University of Virginia. Most recently, she was the director of information technology for U.Va. Human Resources. Haas holds a Master of Engineering degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from James Madison University.
