About the Person
Steve Nelson brings extensive experience in managing large scale IT organizations, working in diverse industries, directing cross-functional teams, and developing and executing IT roadmaps. Steve has directed systems implementations and integrated acquisitions. Steve is currently the Chief Information Officer at Alon USA, a $4b refiner, distributor and retailer of petroleum products. Previously, Steve was CIO at FleetPride from 2013-2015. FleetPride is a $1B distributor and retailer of heavy duty truck and trailer parts. Prior to FleetPride, Steve was Vice President of IT Operations and Integration at Graphic Packaging International, a $4.5B global packaging business. At GPI, Steve led successful integrations of key acquisitions and was also responsible for a SAP ERP implementation. Prior to that, Steve was VP of Information Technology for Altivity Packaging, directing an IT staff of 80 for a $2.5B multi-site consumer packaging business. His early career also includes experience in IT leadership roles with Georgia Pacific, Solo Cup, Continental Airlines and Domino Amjet. Steve holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Houston. He is also a member of the CIO Leadership Network and CIO Executive Board.
