Steve Carter is the Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Security Officer at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). He has had a profound impact on the way CHA staff members use, access, secure, and generate information. In his numerous roles, including Senior Director of Data and Development and Chief Security Information Officer, Steve has developed critical and foundational elements of our IT infrastructure, including a comprehensive data warehouse, sophisticated reporting tools, and a robust intranet that offers over 100 custom applications and thousands of reports to enhance the quality of care and reduce expenses through greater efficiency. He has also established key safeguards to protect and secure our patient data, as validated by a recent audit of CHA’s compliance with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.Steve understands both the operational and technical needs of CHA, and he provides thoughtful and forward-thinking leadership that ensures we remain a cutting-edge model for health systems across the country.
