Henry County Health Center is a hospital with a rich heritage of caring for patients and area residents since 1921. Located at the Crossroads of Southeast Iowa, HCHC is a 74-bed facility, featuring 25 acute care beds, along with our 49 bed long-term care facility, Park Place. HCHC remains a leader in healthcare and is well respected by hospitals of all sizes. Stephen Stewart is the Chief Information Officer at Henry County Health Center. At the hospital he also services as the Compliance Officer, as well as the Security Officer. Prior to joining the Hospital in 2008, he spent over 29 years in Health IT. Serving primarily as the CIO and or COO of Revenue Cycle firms, Stewart has directed man it initiatives for both for profit and not for profit sectors. His IT career has focused heavily on applications, both from a design and implementation perspective. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Marketing, Accounting and Economics with a Masters of Business Administration, also from the University of Iowa, focusing on finance. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and a Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems from HIMSS. He has authored numerous articles published several prominent periodicals, and has been a frequent speaker on IT and Revenue Cycle topics, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and governance.
