The City of Chandler, Arizona was founded in 1912 and incorporated in 1920. Since its early beginnings, Chandler is a vibrant, highly diverse community. As one of the fastest growing communities in the nation, Chandler has transformed from a small agricultural town at the turn of the 20th Century to the High Tech Oasis in the Silicon Desert of today. A modern mix of youthfulness and tradition makes the City of Chandler, Arizona, a spectacular destination for residents and visitors alike. Chandler’s diverse culture, vibrant history, and top-notch services weave together to create a highly dynamic, progressive city.
Stephanie Romero comes to Chandler from the City of Phoenix, where she has served as a Public Information Officer since 2007.As a Public Information Officer, Romero will deliver communication programs that help the City Council and City departments effectively communicate with residents, businesses and visitors. She also will provide news and information to the news media and through City communication tools. Romero joins two other PIOs in the Communications & Public Affairs Department, Jim Phipps and Craig Younger. Romero holds a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University and earned an Airport Management Certification from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America, National Association of Hispanic Journalists and Arizona Latino Media Association.
