The Illinois Department of Commerce is the State Agency that leads economic development efforts for Illinois. Our main focus is to retain and create jobs in Illinois by marketing to: * Existing businesses, encouraging them to reinvest and create more jobs for Illinois citizens; * New businesses, inviting them to relocate, invest, and create new jobs; * International companies, positioning Illinois as a global business destination for Foreign Direct Investment; * Entrepreneurs and investors, connecting resources to support their startups and ventures; and * Locally and globally, promoting Illinois as a world-class tourism and film destination. The Republican Party is located at the newly renovated Shaner Republican Center at 112 State Street in Harrisburg. Today, there are party organizations in all 67 counties as well as elected Republican officials at all levels of government. OUR PARTY`S STRUCTURE Registered Republicans elect State Party Members by county or by district in the primary election in which a governor is to be elected. State Party Members and County Chairman serve on the State Party and elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman to a four-year term. State Party Members also elect a National Committeeman and National Committeewoman to represent Pennsylvania on the Republican National Committee to elect a National Chairman.

In operation since 1949, Idaho National Laboratory is a science-based, applied engineering national laboratory dedicated to supporting the U.S. Department of Energy`s missions in energy research, nuclear science and national defense. The world`s first usable amount of electricity from nuclear energy was generated here in 1951. At 890 square miles (569,135 acres), the INL Site is roughly 85 percent the size of Rhode Island. In addition to our geographic resources, the lab hosts a variety of unique facilities, including the Advanced Test Reactor National Scientific User Facility. Complementing our nuclear research, the lab has numerous alternative energy and national security programs. Robotics, wind power, high-performance computing, biofuels, critical infrastructure protection, carbon management and advanced vehicle testing are just a few examples of our multifaceted research capabilities.
