Established in 1978, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is the largest municipal housing preservation and development agency in the nation. The agency`s mission is to promote the construction and preservation of affordable, high quality housing for low- and moderate-income families in thriving and diverse neighborhoods in every borough by enforcing housing quality standards, financing affordable housing development and preservation, and ensuring sound management of the City`s affordable housing stock. HPD is responsible for carrying out Housing New York: A Five-Borough Ten-Year Plan, Mayor Bill de Blasio`s initiative to build or preserve 200,000 affordable housing units and to help both tenants and landlords preserve the quality and affordability of their homes. HPD is leading the Mayor`s charge, in partnership with over 13 sister agencies, advocates, developers, tenants, community organizations, elected officials, and financial institutions.

To accomplish this vision our mission is to serve the public by providing quality licensing and motor vehicle-related services. The two functions of the DMV that most people are familiar with are registering vehicles and licensing their drivers. The Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC), is an independent state agency with statutory responsibility to represent customers of Connecticut`s five regulated utilities – electric, gas, water, telephone, and to some extent, cable television, primarily in matters that go before the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA). The OCC is authorized to participate on behalf of consumer interests in all administrative and judicial forums and in any matters in which the interests of consumers with respect to public utility matters may be involved.
Franklin County was separated from St. Louis County and established in 1818, and is named after founding father, Benjamin Franklin. The county seat was originally in the village of Newport, but was permanently moved to the City of Union in 1825.
