Approximately one mile from Cape Fear, the hospital is located in the coastal historic town of Southport, NC in Brunswick County. The hospital is overseen by a publicly-elected Board of Trustees and generously supported by a volunteer force of nearly 200, making Dosher Hospital unique in the state of North Carolina. The Year 2013 marks the hospital's 83rd year of community health care.
