On January 1, 2004 Easter Seals UCP North Carolina was established as a result of a merger between Easter Seals North Carolina and UCP of North Carolina. As statewide nonprofit, Easter Seals UCP serves a broad range of people with disabilities, such as people with cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida, mental retardation, muscular dystrophy, stroke, spinal cord injuries, head injuries, hearing and visual impairments, and mental health diagnoses. Easter Seals UCP’s array of services includes child development centers, therapy, community inclusion services, residential living, supported employment, in-home and community-based supports, respite care, disability benefits counseling, information and referral, and advocacy.
