The Charlotte Host Committee, CLT Host 2020, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not for profit economic development organization with no political affiliation. CLT Host 2020, Inc. is responsible for hosting and funding the 2020 Republican National Convention to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina from August 24 - 27, 2020. As an economic development organization, CLT Host 2020, Inc. will highlight the Queen City`s premier business environment which supports the skilled and diverse workforce responsible for the region`s growth in national and international corporate offices and local businesses. The Charlotte region, North Carolina, and South Carolina offer an undeniable energy, full of passionate people from all walks of life whose differences make our communities stronger. CLT Host 2020, Inc. aims to showcase these characteristics and how our residents have created a world-class convention and event destination that attracts sporting events, corporate functions, and international art and musical tours. With the adoption of the City Charter in 1949, the council-manager form of government under which the City of Killeen currently operates was established. The mayor is the City`s chief elected officer, but has no administrative power. The mayor presides over the City`s seven member City Council, which sets all policy. The operations of the City are overseen by a city manager appointed by the council. The citizens elect a mayor and three council members at large. The other four council members represent specific districts of the City and are elected by voters living in their districts. Terms for the mayor and all council members are two years, with a three-consecutive-term limitation for each office. The City holds nonpartisan elections each May. The mayor and the at-large council members are elected in even-numbered years, and the four district council members are elected in odd-numbered years. The Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) is the South Carolina government agency charged with ensuring quality services to prevent or reduce the negative consequences of substance use and addictions.The mission of DAODAS is to ensure the availability and quality of a continuum of substance use services, thereby improving the health status, safety, and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities across South Carolina. DAODAS coordinates a statewide system of local substance abuse agencies that provide prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
