About the Person

Scott Erkonen joined Home Federal Bank as Vice President of Information Systems and Information Security Officer in December of 2007. He is the former United States International Representative to the International Organization of Standards (ISO) JTC1/SC27 for INCITS CS/1, Cyber Security. In December of 2005, he successfully led one of the first ISO 27001 Information Security certification efforts in the world. He is a founding member of the Sioux Falls/South Dakota Storage Networking User Group (SNUG), a member of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) End User Council, and a South Dakota Infragard Members Alliance of South Dakota Board Member. In addition to his Information Security affiliations, Scott is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the Information Technology Service Management Forum. Scott holds professional designations as a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), ISO 27001 Qualified Lead Auditor, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Certified Novell Engineer (CNE), and is a Lead Auditor Instructor. Scott is also a frequent speaker on the topics of technology, technical compliance, and Information Security, and has been featured in various technology-related publications. Previously, Scott worked for Orange Parachute, a Minneapolis based consultancy where he advised clients on Information Security, Corporate Governance, Privacy, Risk Management, and Information Technology strategy and programs. Prior to that, Scott was the Director of Information Security and Managing Officer of Networking for PREMIER Bankcard and First PREMIER Bank in Sioux Falls, SD.
