Mendocino Coast District Hospital (MCDH) is a 25-bed acute care facility licensed by the State of California Department of Health Services and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). MCDH provides emergency, inpatient and outpatient services, and healthcare education to prevent, manage and treat chronic and acute conditions. Carthage Area Hospital (CAH) was established as a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) rural community hospital in 1965. This 78-bed acute care facility includes a 30 bed Skilled Nursing Unit and serves approximately 83,000 residents living in Jefferson, northern Lewis and southern St. Lawrence Counties.
