The VP will lead HR strategic partnerships in the Swedish region and facilities, Providence ministries and regions and shared services. These strategic partners have accountability for employee engagement and retention, employee and labor relations, talent and succession management, workforce planning and alignment of HR strategies to the vision and strategies of Providence and local operational strategies. Works in collaboration with the VP, Total Rewards; VP, Chief Talent Officer, and VP, HR Strategy and Integration to ensure alignment of local needs to the strategies of PH&S. This role will lead the strategic and tactical planning for the field HR functions in alignment with the Providence`s strategic plan.
This role will be one of the critical hires we will make this year to support our vision and achieve our strategic intent for the organization.
In this position you will:
• Have system-wide accountability for HR strategic partners.
• Ensure leadership over the alignment of HR goals to the strategic initiatives and objectives of PH&S. Ensure leadership over strategic partner activities align with both system and local strategic needs.
• Ensure leadership effectiveness over the HR strategic partners to ensure employee engagement levels and employee retention levels meet Providence standards and expectations.
• Through the HR strategic partners, ensure employee and labor relations align with our mission, values and Labor Principles, and aligns with the strategic direction for the facility/region.
• In conjunction with the VP, Total Rewards, will ensure alignment of compensation and benefits practices across our entities that are just and market competitive.
• In conjunction with the Chief Talent Officer and through the local HR strategic partners, ensures the facilities, ministries, regions and functional shared services understand the value and competencies to forecast workforce/organizational needs for the future.
• Works in collaboration with other HR functional areas, key leadership stakeholders to ensure areas of accountability are focused successfully on the most critical needs of the organization.
Required qualifications for this position include:
• Bachelor`s degree.
• At least 10 years as a senior level HR leader over multi-location and multi-geographical (multi-state preferred) locations with 10,000 (15,000 preferred) employees.
• Experience in leading within a matrixed HR Delivery System.
• Experience moving organizations from decentralized to centralized environments and moving employee and management base to technology-based and centralized services.
• Experience in strategic planning and working through local strategic partnerships, service center environment and centers of expertise to achieve aligned objectives.
• Experience working directly with senior executives to achieve strategic initiatives
• Proven track record of successfully working in a highly matrixed organization
• Ability to get key objectives accomplished though others – both direct report leaders as well as through leaders outside direct reporting relationship.
• Has established and built effective system-wide teams.
• Outstanding analytical, communication, consultative, negotiation, and presentation skills across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions, levels and business groups.
• Results oriented and strategically focused on continuous improvement.
