About the Person

Salvatore V. Abano joined Argo Group in 2014 from MajescoMastek, where he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Client Services Officer. With nearly 30 years of Information Technology experience, Abano’s previous experience includes serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Tower Group International, Ltd., Vice President, Information Technology at QBE the Americas, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Kemper Insurance Companies Northeast Region, and Assistant Vice President of Technology and Strategic Software Development at Munich Reinsurance America (formerly American Reinsurance Company). In addition to his corporate experience, Abano completed an 18-month overseas tour of duty with the United States Army as Chief Technology Officer, Military and Technology Operations, in Operation Iraqi Freedom III. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge among other prestigious awards during his deployment; he is now a retired military officer with over 26 years of service in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army. Abano has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from Brooklyn College, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Regis University.
