About the Person
As CTO, Russell Cherry is responsible for delivery of the product vision, execution on enterprise commitments, and technical operations of the Booker platform. Russ joins us from GSI Commerce (now eBay Enterprise), where he spent the last ten years - initially leading the Development organization and more recently as SVP and CTO. Prior to GSI Commerce, Russ was CIO at CDNow, an early on-line music retailer. This led to a position as VP Technology at BeMusic, a Bertelsmann company made up of CDNow, BMG Direct, and several other music related on-line properties. Russ also spent three years consulting at on-line service companies such as Prodigy and Infonautics. Russ started his career as a software developer at General Electric, where he progressively took on technology leadership positions over eight years. Russ attended Villanova University, where he earned his Masters in Computer Science. Russ earned a BS in Mathematics at Bucknell University.
