About the Person

Ron Johnson, CIO at Scripps Networks, the parent of HGTV, The Food Network, Do-It-Yourself, Fine Living, and Great American Country cable networks, has over 25 years of experience in developing systems and building information technology infrastructures for start-up and fast growing businesses in telecommunications, entertainment and Internet advertising industries. He joined Scripps in August 2003. Prior to Scripps Networks Mr. Johnson held the position of Managing Partner with Xperion Technology Consulting where he served as president of Loginsoft, Inc. an emerging software product and professional services company based in Chantilly, Virginia. Prior to Xperion Technology he held the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer at 24/7 Media, a global provider of end-to-end interactive technology and marketing solutions and services for Web publishers, online advertisers, advertising agencies, e-marketers and e-commerce merchants. Johnson was with telecommunications giant Bell Atlantic, a.k.a. Verizon,  for 15 years where he led software engineering and  integration of systems for start-up businesses in Bell Atlantic’s cellular, video, Internet and electronic publishing subsidiaries. He also served as Vice President – Systems Integration at TELE-TV, an entertainment and communications joint venture between Bell Atlantic, NYNEX and Pacific Bell. At Tele-TV he headed integration and deployment of interactive video systems on telephony DSL networks and also headed the integration and deployment of MMDS for Pacific Bell in the Los Angeles, California market.
