About the Person
Roland Garcia joined Baptist Health in 2001 as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President, where his role is to establish plans and direction for Baptist Health technology investments. This has included Electronic Medical Record implementation at Northeast Florida's first all-digital community hospital, Baptist Medical Center South, and then systemwide. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Garcia spent 15 years at Baptist Health Care in Pensacola as Vice President and CIO. During his tenure there, the health system received numerous awards and recognition for innovation in use of technology, including "100 Most Wired," "50 Best Websites" across industries, "Fortune 100 Best Employers" and the "Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award." Garcia received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management Information Services from the University of Houston. He has received numerous awards, including being recognized as one of the business world's "Premier 100 IT Executives" by ComputerWorld across industries and "Top 25 Healthcare CIOs" by Information Week. He is a member of Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2006, Jacksonville CIO Council, Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce CIO Council and the Northeast Florida HIE CIO Council.
