About the Person

Rod Hamilton was appointed CIO of UnitedHealth International in July, 2007, following their acquisition of Hygeia Corporation in October of 2006. UnitedHealth International is a division of UnitedHealth Group which is dedicated to improving healthcare outside the United States. Hamilton was the inaugural CIO of Hygeia Corporation, joining in September of 2000, after spending 21 years at KPMG, where he held a number of positions across the world, culminating as one of the track leads in the Office of the Global CIO. At Hygeia he was responsible for all aspects of technology, including strategy, development and ongoing support. Hamilton’s focus has been on business alignment, team building and strategic application of Internet technologies since 1995; he has been an active IT professional for over 33 years. Hamilton was named by CIO magazine as one of the ""Agile 100"" in 2004 and was also named to the CIO Innovative 100 in 2006. Hamilton was also recognized by Computerworld as a Premier 100 award winner in 2007.
