About the Person

Robert Whitmore has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer since February of 2007. He is responsible for all HDD product and component research and development.

Prior to his appointment as CTO, Whitmore had held many different roles within Seagate, including EVP of Design and Operations, EVP of Product and Process Development, SVP of Product Development, VP of Enterprise Storage Design Engineering, VP of Twin Cities Manufacturing Operations, and Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering (in Singapore).

Whitmore holds an M.S. and B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
