About the Person
Robert Carey is vice president, cybersecurity, cloud and UC solutions within the Global Solutions Division of General Dynamics Information Technology. He is responsible for delivering cybersecurity, cloud and UC offerings to clients within the Department of Defense. Previously, he worked for CSC and Vencore leading operational units supporting the DoD and intelligence community. He retired from the DoD in 2014 after over 31 years of distinguished service. His most recent assignment was a 3 ½ year tour as the DoD Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer. Carey`s federal service began with the U.S. Army in 1982. He began his service with the Department of the Navy in 1985. He transitioned into the office of the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer in 2000. From 2006 to 2010, he served as the fifth Department of the Navy (DON) Chief Information Officer (CIO). Carey retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve at the rank of Captain in the Civil Engineer Corps.
