About the Person

Robbert Kuppens previously worked as Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Russia (EMEAR) CIO for Cisco, the worldwide leader in "networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate." From 2007 to 2014, in addition to holding that position, he was a member of Cisco's global IT executive team and served as cross-operations lead, driving collaboration between the EMEAR leadership team and the local and global IT functions. EMEAR represents more than a quarter of Cisco's $48.6 billion global business. Kuppens has over 25 years of experience in business and IT management consulting and operations management. Prior to joining Cisco, he was a partner for e-strategy at KPMG's Nolan, Norton & Co. Before KPMG, he worked at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) and NCR Corporation. Kuppens holds a master's degree in computer science and a degree in econometrics from the University of Utrecht, where he also lectures on network virtual organization and enterprise information architectures. In addition, he speaks at 15 to 20 major international conferences per year and is a lecturer for Nyenrode's CIO MBA program.
