About the Person
Mr. Richard Wheatley has over thirty years of experience in the Healthcare Information Technology industry. During that time he has held various positions in both the vendor and provider areas. He currently serves as the Chief Information Officer at Cape Regional Medical Center, a 242 bed community hospital located in Cape May Court House, NJ, and the Treasurer for the New Jersey Southern Health Information Network Exchange (NJSHINE). Mr. Wheatley recently retired from his eight year tenure as the Treasurer for the New Jersey Chapter of HIMSS. Prior to joining Cape Regional Medical Center, Mr. Wheatley held the position of Business Development Executive with IBM following his thirteen year tenure as Regional Chief Information Officer with the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. Mr. Wheatley received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, NJ, and his Masters of Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. Mr. Wheatley is also a member of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME) and Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
