About the Person

Mr. Vrieling currently leads the Corporate Information Technology department, Corporate Division. He is responsible for directing all aspects of the division and enterprise shared services technology strategies and operations, including business applications services and solutions, infrastructure and data centers. Additionally, Mr. Vrieling is responsible for desktop and open systems functions for the Life Insurance Division as well as supporting Pacific Life's remote subsidiaries, including Aviation Capital Group, Pacific Global Advisors, and Pacific Life Re. Mr. Vrieling is a member of the Information Technology Management Committee, which is responsible for enterprise IT strategy and governance. Prior to his current position, Mr. Vrieling was vice president, Information Technology for the Investment Management Division from 2008 - 2011.  He was responsible for the division's information technology strategy, operations, and systems used to manage and support the companies' investment portfolios. Mr. Vrieling assumed additional responsibilities in June 2009 as vice president, Investment and Product Operations. He was responsible for all middle and back office operational functions, including post trade fixed income and derivatives activities, cash processing, and cash and asset reconciliations. Mr. Vrieling began his career at Pacific Life in 1986 as a programmer/analyst in the Investment Systems area of the Management Information Systems department. He transferred to the Securities Division in 1987. Mr. Vrieling progressed through a number of promotions with increasing responsibilities, and in 1995 was named director, assuming responsibility for Securities Systems. Under his leadership, Mr. Vrieling began a modernization of the Securities Division computing and technology solutions, and was named assistant vice president, Securities Systems in 1997.
