Newark, NJ-based University Hospital of Newark has Appointed Richard Tunnell as Chief Information Officer

 

About the Company

About the Person

Prior to this appointment, Richard Tunnell was Executive Director of Enterprise Clinical IT Solutions at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) where he had worked in various positions for 22 years. His new responsibilities include all aspects of Information Technology, including the implementation of a new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System. Tunnell attended St. Peter’s College, Union County College and EGMC School of Radiologic Technology. He has worked at several other hospitals in Northern New Jersey. Tunnell is married and the father of a son and daughter. University Hospital is one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers. Located at University Heights in Newark, New Jersey, University Hospital is a principal teaching hospital of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and a regional resource for advanced services across many medical specialties.
