About the Company

Wabtec Passenger Transit designs and manufactures a vast array of pneumatic, electronic and mechanical devices such as braking equipment, controllers, current collectors and couplers for the transit industry worldwide. Wabtec provides brake subsystems and related products for locomotives, freight cars and passenger transit vehicles; electronic train-control equipment; new switcher and commuter locomotives; coupling, door control and air conditioning systems for transit vehicles; and heat-exchange equipment for rail, marine, power generation, off-highway and industrial applications.

About the Person

Rick Smith is VP of global IT at Wabtec Corp., a $3.2B manufacturing company in the railroad industry with more than 140 facilities around the world. He has also held positions as the VP of global IT at IMG, a sports, media and entertainment company, and as IT strategy/M&A lead for Avaya. He was the European IT lead for Visteon, a $20B spinoff of Ford Motor Co. and he spent the first 15 years of his career at Ford in various positions in both IT and operations research.
