Rich Valerga is the Chief Information Officer at Minneapolis Public Schools. As a member of the executive leadership team, he is responsible for strategy, governance, and innovation. Through strong organizational change management, he has made a positive impact in some of the most challenging educational environments in the country. These experiences include rebuilding the New Orleans School System following Hurricane Katrina and leading a complex governmental consolidation during the largest school merger in the modern history of the country. Valerga was named one of the Top 50 Innovators in Education by the Center for Digital Education and Converge Magazine in 2012 and is a National Certified Government CIO.
