About the Person
Dr. Randall D. Ledford, Ph.D. has been the President of Emerson Venture Capital since 1997. Dr. Ledford serves as the President of Emerson Ventures Inc., an Emerson subsidiary that invests in technology venture companies. Since 1997, Dr. Ledford has been Senior Vice President and the Chief Technology Officer for Emerson Electric Company. Prior to joining Emerson, he served as President and General Manager of several different divisions at Texas Instruments Inc., including Software, Digital Imaging, Enterprise Solutions, and Process Automation. He began his career with Bell Telephone Laboratories in New Jersey where he worked on UNIX development, fiber optic communication, and microwave transmissions. He serves as Director of Akermin, Inc. He has been an Independent Director of Gerber Scientific Inc., since 2003. He serves on several CTO boards and forums both in the U.S. and abroad. He served as a Director of Stereotaxis Inc. from November 1997 to May 11, 2005. Dr. Ledford served as a Director of Interphase Corp., from 2001 to September 29, 2006. He served as an Independent Director of Interphase Corp. from 2001 to September 29, 2006. Dr. Ledford received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Physics from Duke University and a B.S. in Physics from Wake Forest University.
