Greensburg, PA-based Seton Hill University has Appointed Phil Komarny as Chief Information Officer
Located atop 200 beautiful acres of tree-lined hills in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Seton Hill University offers an inspirational setting for a life-changing education. Symbolized by our campus` lofty location is a point of view that has the power to transform the toughest challenges into timely opportunities. To turn everyday problems into unexpected potential. To change the way students think about life and learning. Founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1885, Seton Hill started out as a small liberal arts college for women. It has since grown into a 2000-student coeducational university. A Catholic university, Seton Hill embraces students of all faiths, and has continued to follow a sole mission - to educate students to think and act critically, creatively, and ethically as productive members of society, committed to transforming the world.
Phil Komarny, vice president for Computer and Information Technology at Seton Hill University, has served as the institutional catalyst in initiatives which have positioned Seton Hill as a leader in strengthening learning through the use of mobile technology. In addition to providing daily support of the University’s entire technology infrastructure, Komarny develops new software and website applications and manages institutional use of Facebook, Twitter, blogs and podcasts. In 2011, Komarny was selected by the Pittsburgh Technology Council in the non-profit category as a finalist for the CIO of the Year. With Komarnys leadership, Seton Hill is working to transform the way faculty teach and the way students learn. The fast, dependable, comprehensive and mobile services which the University provides will help students be better at almost anything. They will be more proficient at compiling and organizing data, conducting research, publishing and presenting information, accessing information and judging and making decisions.
