About the Person
Peter Taylor brings a track record of achievement in both the public and private sectors to the task of delivering on USAC’s goal of providing best in class technology and data solutions to its internal and external stakeholders. Taylor joins USAC from Henrico County Public Schools, where he served as Director of Technology and CIO. In his two and a half years there, he oversaw all aspects of technology for the 52,000 student public school district, including services delivery, application development, information security, and business intelligence. His specific achievements include the deployment and support of 45,000 laptops as a key part of the world’s first K-12 education 1:1 computer program. Taylor also brings valuable perspective to USAC and its stakeholders through Henrico Schools’ significant participation in E-rate, one of the four the universal service fund programs delivered by USAC supporting schools and libraries access to telecommunications services. Prior to his role in Henrico County, Taylor held senior technology positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and Capital One where he developed expertise in e-commerce tools, business intelligence, and enterprise architecture. Taylor received a BS of Liberal Arts & Sciences in Geography from the University of Florida and a MS in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce.
