About the Company

SolarCity is a national leader in clean energy services. We make clean energy available to homeowners, businesses, schools, non-profits and government organizations at a lower cost than they pay for energy generated by burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas. Our approach is to install systems to the highest engineering standards while making the switch simple for our customers. We`ve revolutionized the way energy is delivered by giving customers a cleaner, more affordable alternative to their monthly utility bill.

About the Person

Peter Rive is SolarCity's co-founder, COO and CTO, and oversees the company's operations and technology development. Peter has helped grow SolarCity into the largest full-service solar provider in the nation— the company is currently providing one in every three new residential solar systems in the U.S. In his role as chief technology officer, Peter oversees the development of SolarCity's next-generation software and hardware technologies, including battery systems and solar mounting hardware. Peter’s passion for solar is centered around a concern for climate change and the belief that solar represents the most practical path to sustainable energy production. He continues to push the boundaries of solar operations and technology with the goal of achieving breakthroughs in cost reductions and 24-hour energy delivery. Peter has held several senior technology positions throughout his career focused on streamlining operational activities through the use of advanced software. Before he co-founded SolarCity, Peter held the position of chief technology officer at Everdream, where he designed a software platform to centralize computer management. Everdream was acquired by Dell in 2007.
