Kamehameha Schools (KS) is a private charitable trust endowed by the will of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the great-granddaughter and last direct descendant of King Kamehameha I. The trust`s mission is to improve the capability and well-being of Hawaiians through education. KS achieves its mission by operating an educational system serving over 6,900 students at K-12 campuses on O`ahu, Maui and Hawai`i island, and at nearly 30 preschools statewide. The trust also serves over 40,000 additional learners annually through a range of community outreach programs. KS employs more than 2,300 full-time and part-time employees covering nine operational groups: Community Relations and Communications, Campus Education, Hawaiian Cultural Affairs, Endowment, Administration, Finance, Strategic Planning and Implementation, Human Resources and Legal Services.
