About the Person

Paul Murphy is responsible for overseeing all operational efforts in the analysis and design of Lane’s network infrastructure, including equipment, procedures, development and maintenance.   He will work with various departments, along with his team of developers, system administrators and network engineers to manage risks, control costs and improve operations, a news release said.   A native of Baton Rouge, Murphy has more than 15 years of IT experience. Prior to joining Lane, he was an IT program manager at Geocent, a technology consulting and software engineering company in Baton Rouge, and is past vice president of professional development for the Project Management Institute’s Baton Rouge chapter.   Murphy graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, where he received his master’s degree in business administration, and is a credentialed project management professional.   He’s been with the Air National Guard since 2001, is commissioned as an Air Force cyber officer and has earned the Air Force Achievement Medal for on-the-fly engineering and for deploying a never-before-used emergency communications system to support troops responding to an earthquake in Pakistan.
