Paul Citarella serves as Patent Properties Chief Technology Officer. Paul is a seasoned technologist and serial entrepreneur with over a decade of technology leadership experience and founding roles in two consumer internet startups under his belt. Prior to Patent Properties, Paul was Founder and CEO of Jointli.com where he wore every hat imaginable from software engineer to digital marketer and grew Jointli from a concept to a dominant position in a niche market, garnering coverage from MSN, AOL, and Thrillist. While serving as Jointli’s CEO, Paul also led an active consulting practice helping Fortune 100 companies rethink their approach to innovating in the digital space, taking cues from the startup ecosystem and the Lean Startup methodology. Paul was also an active participant in the growing startup community in New York as a speaker, panelist, and instructor at New York’s premier startup incubator. Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Paul spent more than a decade crafting his broad and deep technology skill set in a variety of pure technology roles ranging from software engineer to technology executive. Paul’s most recent technology role was Director of Enterprise Architecture and Technology Operations at Synapse Group, Inc. (a Time-Warner company) where he was responsible for creating and executing Synapse's strategic technology vision and overseeing a full-service technology operations organization. While at Synapse, Paul served on BEA's SOA 360 Customer Advisory Board, and received Oracle Magazine's Architect of the Year award for his innovative use of Oracle’s SOA product line.
