Pam McNutt is senior vice president and chief information officer for Methodist Health System. McNutt's experience in the field of health care information technology spans nearly 30 years, the last 18 of which have been in the role of CIO at Methodist. Prior to joining Methodist in 1993, she worked for Medicus/HBOC and Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. McNutt is a fellow of both the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). She is also actively involved with the Healthcare Information Systems Executives Association. She currently serves on the CHIME board of trustees and is a former director for the HIMSS national board. McNutt has been nationally recognized for her work. She is the 2002 John Gall CIO of the Year, and received the HIMSS Leadership Award in 2001 and the HIMSS Information Systems Award in 1998. She participated as a faculty member for the CHIME Healthcare CIO Boot Camp 2003-2006. In 2010 McNutt was named a "Rising Star to Watch" by Healthcare IT News. In 2011, McNutt was named one of the Top 25 Women in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare. She was also honored among "56 Women Hospital & Health care Leaders to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review magazine. McNutt currently serves as a member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Data Initiative Executive Committee, and a member of the State of Texas' Health Care Information Council Hospital Data Collection Workgroup. She holds a BBA degree in statistics and marketing from the University of Texas at Austin, and has pursued postgraduate studies in management information systems at George Washington University.
