Garden City`s Town Center, which opened in September of 2009 with the dedication of the City`s new 33,000 square foot City Hall, serves as the epicenter of local government and the “heart and soul” of Garden City. Located on Dean Forest Road just south of I-16, the Town Center earned praise from the Governor of Georgia as a “shining example” for the State of Georgia and won a Georgia Planning Association award for its innovative design. Garden City established the Town Center in a location that retains the comfort of small town living with the amenities of a larger urban environment. Town Center is located on 25 acres within the City`s first Mixed Use Zoning District, which encourages a livable, sustainable urban environment with a vibrant mix of uses on a walkable pedestrian scale.
