About the Person

Nicolas Genest is Chief Technology Officer at ModCloth. He is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of their revolutionary business mission through development and deployment of the company’s mobile and web presence as well as the entire underlying information system.   Nicolas has also been CTO of The RealReal turning around their entire technology platform and re-ignited growth by transitioning them out of an outsourced technology model. He has also officiated as CTO of the European leader vente-privee.com in Paris, inventor of the Flash Sales model and he later launched the American joint venture with American Express in 2011. Under his tenure the pioneer of Flash Sales went from 170M to 1.2B Euros from 2007 to 2012.   Previously, Nicolas was at Microsoft as a Business Intelligence and Development Platform Engineer where he worked on Database and .Net development technologies. He also served at Pfizer as Project Manager leading a team of developers producing critical web-based intranet applications.
