Established in 1910, The Urban League is the nation`s oldest and largest community- based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, spearheads the non-partisan efforts of its local affiliates. There are 94 local affiliates of the National Urban League located in 35 states and the District of Columbia providing direct services to more than 2 million people nationwide through programs, advocacy and research. Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance leads an ongoing, comprehensive downtown management program. We bring ideas and people together to help create an exciting and attractive place to live, work, invest, and visit. Established in 2003, HDR set out to reverse the devastating impact many years of economic decline had on downtown. In the 19th and 20th centuries, Harrisonburg`s downtown thrived as the bustling county seat of Rockingham County but struggled when people and businesses began moving to the suburbs. HDR worked with local government, business and property owners, and community groups to bring them back.
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) is the only national professional association that represents all PAs across all medical and surgical specialties in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the armed forces, and the federal services. AAPA provides comprehensive support and advocacy for physician assistants so that they may, in turn, provide patients with increased access to quality, cost-effective health care.
The UA Alumni Association advances the University of Arizona by connecting and engaging Wildcats for Life. We serve more than 290,000 former UA students living throughout the 50 U.S. states and in more than 150 countries. We offer programs and services to all alumni including activities through alumni chapters and clubs, communications, travel, membership, and special events.
