Chevy Chase, MD-based National 4-H Council has Appointed Mitchell Head as Chief Information Officer
4-H is a community of seven million young people around the world learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. National 4-H Council is the private sector, non-profit partner of the Cooperative Extension System and 4-H National Headquarters located at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). In the United States, 4-H programs are implemented by the 109 land-grant universities and Cooperative Extension through more than 3,000 local offices serving every county and parish in the country. Outside the United States, 4-H programs operate through independent, country-led organizations in more than 50 countries.
Mitchell Head brings more than 15 years of experience overseeing the strategy, planning and implementation of business and technology transformation initiatives for the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Most recently, Mr. Head served as AARP’s Director of Technology Strategy and Innovation where he was responsible for leading the strategy and innovation function within the Division of Information Technology Services. In this position, he focused on harnessing data in ways that benefit both the organization and its customers. He also served as AARP's Director of CRM Integrated Technology Delivery where he led a multi-year CRM Transformation Program to change the way AARP’s business units interact with the organization's 37 million members. Prior to working at AARP, Mr. Head served as technical director of International Business Technologies at AOL serving in various capacities. There he was responsible for managing customer relationships with the executive business and technology leadership teams abroad, including the U.K., Netherlands, Japan, Argentina, Mexico and Brazil. Prior to that, he served as AOL's Technical Director of Broadband Business Technologies where he managed the technology components of the “Bring Your Own Access” product launch that was critical to AOL’s corporate broadband strategy and generated 3 million new BYOA customers in 2003. Mr. Head received his B.A. in philosophy from James Madison University.
