Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC), formerly Warner Cable Communications and sometimes colloquially referred to as simply Time Warner, is an American cable telecommunications company that operates in 29 states and has 31 operating divisions. It is the second largest cable company in the U.S. behind only Comcast. Its corporate headquarters are located in the Time Warner Center in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, with other corporate offices in Stamford, Connecticut; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Herndon, Virginia. Time Warner Cable serves customers in the following 29 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Mike LaJoie leads the Technology and Network Operations Group at Time Warner Cable. In his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology and Network Operations Officer, Mr. LaJoie brings together technology with operations and strategy to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business decisions for the company. Prior to his most recent appointment, Mr. LaJoie was Time Warner Cable’s Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, a position he assumed in January 2004. Before that, he served as Executive Vice President of Advanced Technology from March 2003, and in the same capacity for Time Warner Cable’s Time Warner Entertainment (TWE) division from August 2002. Mr.LaJoie served as Vice President of Corporate Development of TWE from 1998 and President of Broadband Applications Development Group of TWE, starting in 1996. He joined Time Warner in 1994 as Vice President of Software Development in the Time Warner Interactive Group. Through the 1980s and the early 90s, Mr. LaJoie provided consulting services in software development and network engineering. He has been a Series 7 Registered Representative and a NASDAQ Broker/Dealer. Mr. LaJoie has served on the boards of directors of several organizations, including the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), SCTE Foundation and Beaumaris Networks. He is serving as chairman of the board of SCTE during the 2011-2012 term and was reelected for the 2012-2013 term. In 2011, he was named to the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame. Time Warner Cable is among the largest providers of video, high-speed data and voice services in the U.S., connecting 15 million customers to entertainment, information and each other.
