Miguel Zubizarreta is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Miguel is responsible for the architecture and product development direction of the OnBase product line. Miguel oversees the complete development cycle, from requirements gathering, through design, development, testing, documentation and evangelization. Miguel joined Hyland in 1992 as V.P. of Development. Under his leadership, Hyland has built a world-class development organization responsible for the creation of the OnBase product line, over 125 modular components that can be combined to solve business problems in any industry or business sector. Miguel instituted Hyland Software`s minimalist methodologies designed to encourage and stimulate innovation using state-of-the-art languages and object-oriented, open architecture. Miguel is a member of the executive management team and is instrumental to a number of corporate initiatives, including the OnBase educational conferences for end users and resellers. Miguel is a recognized authority in ECM and has been a speaker and panel member at many different annual conferences for the last 10+ years. He routinely addresses senior management at large multi-national corporations, providing strategic guidance in business process improvement through the use of ECM. Prior to joining Hyland, Miguel worked as a contractor specializing in commercial software design and development. His first generally available software, Graph-It, was developed in 1987. More than 100,000 copies of Graph-It were sold to Apple Computer users. In 1988, Miguel was part of the team that developed the ViewII product for Gould Recording Systems, Inc, a Windows 2.03 product that was sold worldwide for waveform analysis. In 1990, Miguel worked with Raleigh Systems to hire, train and lead a development team to design and implement the Caliber 32, a medical billing system that was purchased by more than 400 hospitals and 10 Blue Cross organizations. In addition, Miguel was part of the group that delivered an OS/2-based development toolkit. Miguel, a native of Peru, received his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and took numerous postgraduate courses.
