About the Person

Michael Wood joined McKesson in November 1999 and has spent the past 16 years in healthcare technology where he has managed software engineering teams on both the provider and payer side of the market. His current position is Chief Technical Officer for the Health Solutions division of McKesson where he oversees software development and internal technology used in the development of integrated Disease Management, Clinical Code Auditing and Contract Management applications for the payer market. Previously, Mr. Wood held the position of Vice President of R&D for McKesson's Amherst Product Group (APG) developing decision support and business intelligence software for the provider market. Prior to McKesson, he spent seven years at QuadraMed Corporation as Vice President of Software Development where he developed decision support, contract management, medical records and electronic billing software. Mr. Wood started his career in healthcare technology with Siemens (formerly Shared Medical Systems) as a programmer and systems analyst working with its physician billing applications and new technology group. In addition to his background in healthcare technology, he also holds an MBA from LaSalle University and has served as an adjunct professor at Philadelphia College for 10 years where he taught a masters level course in Comparative Operating Systems.
