Boulder, CO-based Virocyt has Appointed Michael Olszowy as Chief Technology Officer
ViroCyt is the leader in the field of rapid virus quantification. Our goal is to provide the tools that deliver meaningful improvements to mission critical processes, such as vaccine manufacturing, protein expression, antiviral development and other settings where viruses play a significant role.
Michael Olszowy joins ViroCyt from Thermo Fisher (formerly Life Technology and Molecular Probes) where he served as Director of R&D with responsibility for the development and commercialization of unique Molecular Probes® brand flow cytometry reagents as well as the expansion of acoustic technology through world-wide education, and earlier as Product Manager for Flow Cytometry, leading the emergence of the flow cytometry business. Prior to joining Molecular Probes, Michael was Director of R&D at Caltag Laboratories and was instrumental in the growth of fluorochrome antibody conjugate introductions into to the flow cytometry market. Earlier in his career, he worked at Pfizer as a Senior Research Scientist. His postdoctoral research was carried out in the Department of Pathology and Center of Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis. Michael earned his PhD degree in Experimental Pathology and Immunology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and his BS degree from the University of Notre Dame.
