About the Person
Michael T. Moran joined Westell in 2015 as Chief Technology Officer. An industry veteran, he brings extensive experience in high-level corporate strategy, technical and systems engineering, and executive management to the Westell team. Michael’s previous executive positions include Director of Portfolio Strategy; Director of Planning, Systems Engineering and Architecture; and Director of Engineering, all for Tellabs. Via his work at Tellabs, Michael brings a thorough understanding of emerging markets such as software defined networking (SDN), cloud and datacenter, and network function virtualization (NFV); and a strong background in technology including application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), software, digital signal processing (DSP) and hardware development, marketing strategy and mergers and acquisition work. Prior to Tellabs, Michael held prominent technical and executive positions at McAfee, Network Associates, Network General, Alcatel, Siemens and GTE. He has been awarded 22 patents including “application layer analysis and prescribed analytics of real-time data”. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the DeVry Institute of Technology and a master of science in computer science from North Carolina State University.
