Michael Kennaugh is a Vice President in the Information Technology Division for United Continental Holdings, responsible for IT Business Management. Michael’s responsibilities include Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, IT Strategy and Governance and the management of the IT Business Office. United IT has approximately 2500 employees and contractors, runs over 900 applications in 3 primary data centers and is responsible for managing all aspects of United’s global application and infrastructure technology across the globe on a 7/24 basis. United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) is the holding company for both United Airlines and Continental Airlines. Together with United Express, Continental Express and Continental Connection, these airlines operate an average of 5,765 flights a day to 377 airports on six continents from their hubs in Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Guam, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark Liberty, San Francisco, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. United and Continental are members of Star Alliance, which offers more than 21,200 daily flights to 1,185 airports in 185 countries. United and Continental’s more than 80,000 employees reside in every U.S. state and in many countries around the world. Prior to joining United, Michael has had a diverse 25 year career in the IT field across several industry sectors including finance, investment banking, manufacturing, consumer products, and logistics working for Fortune 500 corporations. He has had the opportunity to lead several transformational projects including multiple mergers and acquisitions, implementing 2 enterprise-wide ERP systems, launching an online sales channel and deploying world-wide financial consolidation software. Michael is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (BA – Economics and Computer Applications) and Loyola University Chicago (MBA – Finance). He currently lives with his wife and 2 children in the northern Chicago suburb of Lake Forest Illinois.
