Michael Barrett serves as President of the FIDO Alliance, an open standards consortium for User Authentication. Mr. Barrett serves as an Executive at Marsh & McLennan and responsible in helping Circle build a financial platform that can grow to service consumers and businesses operating at a global scale. He serves as Vice Chairman of Management Board of Liberty Alliance Project. He served as the Chief Information Security Officer of PayPal, Inc. from 2006 to 2013. He was responsible for ensuring the security of PayPal's 133 million accounts worldwide. He oversaw the information systems and services that protect the integrity and confidentiality of PayPal customer and employee information. He served as President of Liberty Alliance, an open-standards consortium focused on identity management standards and guidelines. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Delta Air Lines and Marsh & McLennan. He was the driving force behind the introduction and standardization of the Alliance's federated identity concepts, and he also co-chaired its Identity Theft Prevention Working Group. He served as Vice President of security and utility strategy of American Express, where he helped define its information-security program and directed its Internet technology strategy. He served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Mercer. Mr. Barrett serves as a Member of Technical Advisory Board of RedSeal Networks, Inc. (formerly Redseal Systems, Inc.). He has been a Member of Advisory Board at Fortscale Security Ltd. since January 8, 2014. He has been a Member of Executive Advisory Board of Circle Internet Financial, Inc. since January 16, 2014. He serves as Director of Nok Nok Labs, Inc. Mr. Burns serves as a Director of Goldman Sachs, Wal-Mart Stores, Cisco Systems and Orbitz. Mr. Barrett has served on Advisory basis to several Internet companies. He served as an Executive Director of National Cyber Security Alliance. He is a Certified Information Systems Security professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He was twice named one of the 50 most powerful people in networking by Network World magazine and was listed as one of ITSecurity.com's 59 top influencers in the security industry. He was recognized as the Information Security Executive of the year in 2010. Mr. Barrett graduated from Brighton University (U.K.), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
