As Chief Technology Officer at Progress, Matt Robinson is charged with crafting and delivering the technology direction for the company. In his role as the resident technical visionary and strategist, Matt oversees Progress architecture and user experience teams, and collaborates on innovation projects, growth strategies and new market opportunities. Matt also provides strong external leadership, forging relationships with industry analysts, customers and partners. Previously as co-founder and CEO of Rollbase, Matt led the company from concept to industry recognition as an innovator in platform as a service (PaaS), and ultimately successful acquisition by Progress in 2013. Since that time, Matt has been a key part of the Progress Application Development and Deployment team and played a defining role in the acquisitions of Modulus and Telerik. Before joining Progress and founding Rollbase, Matt was co-founder and CEO of Recruitforce, a cloud platform for talent management applications acquired by Taleo in 2005 before its IPO. Taleo was subsequently acquired by Oracle for $1.9 billion and today, Recruitforce is known as "Oracle TBE Cloud Service" and used by thousands of businesses worldwide. A patent holder and co-author of a bestselling Java programming book, Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bates College and his Masters of Science in Computer Science from the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute.
