Matt Kopit is a technology leader with over two decades of experience building platforms that provide premium quality content to mass audiences. Since the earliest days of the Web, Matt has been building and leading teams focused on maximizing the potential of content creators, captivating users and transforming businesses within the rapidly changing technology and media landscape.   Matt is the CTO of OpenSlate, a leader in the digital evolution of brand advertising. OpenSlate measures and scores all ad-supported content on YouTube. Hundreds of blue-chip brands rely on OpenSlate`s proprietary data about quality, brand safety and demographics to power their video ad campaigns.    As the Vice President of Technology for Always On, the platform that powers MTV and VH1 News, Matt oversaw the software engineering teams responsible for building the platforms that deliver news to millions of daily users. The group is also charged with developing the editorial and analytics tools used by Viacom’s editorial, growth and data science teams. As a founding member of the Always On team, he shaped the vision that lead to Viacom’s investment in the platform, while overseeing its development. In its first year of operation, Always On has propelled MTV News to massive growth and made it a major player in Entertainment news.   Prior to his role at Always On, Matt was Vice President of Technology for the Viacom Music Group, responsible for the development of platforms supporting the digital television and music business of MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo. During his time there he oversaw the replacement of the legacy Web platform, the introduction of responsive, mobile-first designs across all sites, launched apps on iOS, Android, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows Phone, developed new tools for production teams, and supported many high-profile, high-traffic events such as MTV’s Video Music Awards and Movie Awards.
