About the Person
Mary Pizzino, who joined the Effingham Health System in March 2006, manages the health information management, information systems and quality data departments for the hospital, nursing home and all physician practices. Her most recent accomplishments include overseeing the transition of the emergency department staff and physicians to electronic medical records. Her next big assignment is to lead the organization to the new ICD-10 coding system required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid in 2014.
