About the Person

Patel is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Sanmina-SCI Corporation, a global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, based in San Jose, California, that serves original equipment manufacturers in technology-related industries such as communications and computer hardware. He joined the Sanmina in 1997 and progressed through a number of senior IT management positions until the company's merger with SCI in 2001. During this time, the company's annual revenue grew from $600 million to more than $4 billion, and Patel provided leadership in the development and implementation of the IT strategy that enabled international expansion, customer-focused services, and the successful integration of more than 10 mergers and acquisitions. Patel was promoted to CIO in September 2006 and assumed responsibility for the global IT team that supports all aspects of Sanmina-SCI's operations. Prior to joining Sanmina-SCI, Patel was with the European operations of Ford Motor Company. He moved to California's Silicon Valley in 1989 to lead the IT organizations of two start-up companies over a period of eight years.
